New Aston Martin could enhance the prestige car hire market

New Aston Martin could enhance the prestige car hire market Jan 25 2010, 08:18 AM The prestige car hire market is likely to be boosted with the arrival of the Aston Martin DBS Volante.Writing for the Telegraph, Andrew English highlights that the Aston not only has "superlative performance" but also benefits from "crowd-pulling looks".Those interested in sports car hire may also be impressed to hear that the car possesses an exceptional gearbox.Mr English remarked: "The specially built Graziano manual box on the DBS is one of the slickest examples of its type and the cable shift was set up perfectly, with a reasonably light clutch."The six litre V12 produces 510bhp and takes the driver from zero to 62mph in just 4.3 seconds - with a top speed of 191mph.Mr English described the engine as being comparable to "a bear in a pipe and sounds as it feels; as seamless as a worked-out mine, as powerful as the November storms pounding the Cornish coastline".Aston Martin says the DBS Volante will appeal to motorists who are interested in the excitement of driving a sports car alongside the feeling of being open to the elements.Click here to see our range of cars.Posted by Jenny Denham
