SPEEDY RACING TEAM SEBAH is aiming for a great result in the 2009 Le Mans Series finale at Silverstone on 13th September for the Autosport 1000 km. Andrea Belicchi, Marcel Fassler and Nicolas Prost are looking forward to Silverstone where they hope to acchieve the result they deserve with all the SPEEDY RACING TEAM SEBAH crew.
At the previous race at the Nurburgring, once again the team demonstrated the ability of the #13 Lola - Aston Martin to battle with the Aston Martin Racing factory cars for the victory. Unfortunately, an electrical problem disrupted the #13 Lola's race when Nicolas Prost pitted for the second time, depriving the crew of its possible podium position. It took a while for the prototype to return to the track after repairs to fix the problem.
SPEEDY RACING TEAM SEBAH was all the more frustrated that the breakdown stemmed from a relay in the engine ignition system from a supplier. The part had been changed as a precaution even though the original part had been used for a season and a half without any problem. The #13 Lola finished the 1000 km of Nurburgring in 6th place.
Andrea Belicchi : " I hope we will have a bit of luck this time. The team have worked very hard this year to win a race overall and I think we can do it at Silverstone, I like the circuit, we should have a good car again, so I am confident."
Marcel Fassler : " We want to get our revenge at Silverstone, we have a car that could allow us to beat our competitors and thats' exactly what I want ! Silverstone is a track where you can create a big difference during the race with strategy and driving. I think we have a good chance. "
Nicolas Prost : " We need to stay error-free and not have any problems with the car's reliability but, with the work the team did since Nurburgring, I am confident. It is difficult to make predictions for a six hour race but our target is definetly the top of the podium ".
Bart Hayden, Team manager : " The LMP1 car had been updated since the last race and I am optimistic it will work well on the Silverstone circuit. It has been a great experience competing in front of the LMP1 class this season and I think we have proved what we are capable of, especially with a 2008 car upgraded to 2009 regulations. We are also looking forward to next season with high expectations. ""
