Ultra-Rare Aston Martin DBR2 Recreated

Rizk DBR2 1 4

What do you do when you covet one of the rarest, most expensive cars ever to grace this world but find that it’s simply unavailable? Well, you design it yourself with a roster of space-age materials that would make your average Pentagon contractor blush. At least that’s what Rizk Auto did in this redesigned Aston Martin DBR2. There were only two DBR2s ever produced back in the 1957, and needless to say, both are unavailable at the moment–the second having sold at auction not too long ago for the modest sum of $2.9 million. So Rizk is remaking the classic auto using an aluminum honeycomb/carbon fiber monocoque chassis, NASA Aerogel heat insulation under the hood, body panels composed of a carbon fiber/Nomex composite, seats modeled after the ergonomic Aeron chair and fully-adjustable independent suspension. Under the hood, Rizk will install choice of classic Jaguar engines or fuel-injected 6.2-liter Corvette engine.  [via Jalopnik]
