Perth's Aston Martin bandits strike again

Hoons stole an Aston Martin Vantage worth about $300,000 and took it for a joyride around Perth.

Hoons have stolen an Aston Martin Vantage worth about $300,000 this week, the second such supercar theft in the past two months.

A Hollywood movie-style car chase at speeds over 250kmh has been connected to yet another Aston Martin heist in a wealthy Perth suburb.

Detective Senior Constable Gary Simpson said thieves broke into a property on Harvey Road in Shenton Park on November 3 and stole a silver Aston Martin Vantage.

At 2am today, police spotted a Holden GTS Commodore in front of the Shenton Park address of the stolen supercar.

The Holden had been reported stolen only minutes earlier from a house in Hamilton Hill earlier in the morning.

Police went to pull up next to the Holden when the car took off and a police chase ensued.

"A patrol car then saw the car an hour later on Curtin Avenue in Cottesloe, chased it again and lost it again on Leach Highway where it clocked speeds over 250kmh," Mr Haw said.

The stolen Holden GTS Commodore was believed to be connected to recent burglaries in the Western suburbs and the theft of exotic vehicles.

In another incident, a blue 2008 Aston Martin Vantage with an estimated price tag of $300,000 was stolen from a Claremont house on September 21.

Luckily for the owner of the luxury car made famous by James Bond, it was recovered only three days later after the thieves had taken it for a joyride.

The latest stolen Aston Martin is yet to be found.
