Racing fans and car aficionados had better rev up their engines. The excitement is palpable for the release of Turn 10 and Microsoft’s Xbox car racing game, Forza Motorsport 3, this October, 2009.
A few extras have been thrown in to celebrate the game’s launch. The creative heads have put in a free Game Add-on car and track pack with every copy of the game. The Motorsports Legends Car Pack comes as a one-time-use token card and contains 10 classic racing automobiles and two additional tracks, the Benchmark High Speed Ring and the returning circuit Sidewinder Proving grounds.
The Benchmark Ring covers 3.96 miles of rough open ground that accommodates an oval 8-lane drag strip and a hangar that players can drive through. It is virtual airfield and airplane hangar cleared for a race track and playground that is designed to stoke up motor racing mayhem. An official launch trailer of the gameplay is also available online.
For car lovers, the automobiles named among Turn 10’s prized handpicks include a ’57 Ferrari 250 Testa Rosa, a ’60 Chevrolet Corvette, a ’64 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage, a ’65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA, a ’65 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, a ’67 Lamborghini Miura P400, a ’69 Dodge Charger, a ’71 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R, a ’80 Fiat 131 Abarth and a ’81 BMW M1.
The 10 new additions are just a small part of the game’s garage roster that holds over 400 cars and 100 tracks. The list encompasses 30 Ferraris, 28 Porsches, and others like the Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR, the Aston Martin DBS and the 2009 Acura ARX ALMS that are exclusive to this edition only. What’s more, players can paint, tune and customize their race cars in every way possible.
The racing game is rated E and will be available in Japan, Europe and Asia, and the U.S. on October 22, October 23 and October 27, 2009, respectively. The price tagged to this latest Forza game is still under wraps.
