Thieves target vintage cars in crime spree

A computer consultant said he was 'gutted' after an organised crime gang stole his beloved collection of vintage cars worth £250,000.

Timothy Slow, 40, had three vehicles - including a James Bond-style 1968 Aston Martin - stolen from an underground garage at this Grand Regency Heights flat in North Ascot on Saturday.

He arrived home at 8pm to find three empty spaces where his cars should have been.
There were burn marks on the floor where the thieves had used welding equipment to remove the clamps and police said the gang could have used a low-loader to spirit the cars away.

A black BMW X6 belonging to a different owner was also reported stolen from the same garage between 6pm on Saturday and 1.05pm on Sunday.

Mr Slow said the thieves had taken everything he had.
"I'm not a James Bond banker-type who owns a fortune," he said. "I saved up for 10 years to buy the first car. They are pretty much all I have."

Mr Slow's vehicles included two Aston Martins and a green 1962 E-type Jaguar Roadster.
